We want every delegate, journalist and partner to be able to read our materials, complete our forms and move through our venues comfortably.
OUR COMMITMENT
We aim to meet the WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines across this website and our application forms, and to apply the same intent to printed materials and on-site experiences. Accessibility is treated as part of building and reviewing each page, not as a later correction.
WHAT WE DO ON THE WEB
Measures currently in place across this site:
- Semantic headings and landmarks so screen readers can navigate structure.
- Keyboard access to every interactive element, with a visible focus indicator.
- Text and interface colours checked for contrast against their backgrounds.
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images and icons.
- Layouts that reflow to small screens and remain readable at 200% zoom.
- Form fields with persistent labels and clear, text-based error messages.
AT THE VENUE
Programme venues are selected with step-free access to plenary and breakout rooms, accessible restrooms and reserved seating near the front. Tell us in advance and we will arrange priority seating, an accompanying person pass, dietary requirements or a quiet space for use during the day.
KNOWN LIMITATIONS
We publish limitations openly rather than claiming full conformance.
- Some archived PDFs and slide decks are not fully tagged for screen readers.
- Third-party embeds such as maps and video players are outside our direct control.
- Older session recordings may not yet have accurate captions.
ALTERNATIVE FORMATS
If a document or page is not usable for you, we will provide the same content in another form — large print, plain text, an accessible document, or a phone or email walkthrough of an application form. Requests are usually met within five working days.
FEEDBACK AND ENFORCEMENT
Tell us the page address, what you were trying to do and the assistive technology you were using. We acknowledge accessibility reports within two working days and give a remediation timeline with our reply. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate the matter to the Secretariat's programme director.
